Homemade Halloween Costume Ideas

My mother did not believe that the costumes are ready to buy at the store, but homemade or improvised each of my Halloween costumes when I was a child. Part of my favorites was a ladybug, MIME, and a rock star.

Make a costume for your baby can be a fun experience and an opportunity to spend quality time with your child. In many cases, there is very little to buy in order to create a great costume. Many materials are needed and can be owned and permanently improvise without altering the materials by using the strip of fabric glue or seam tape.

You can also create makeup for homemade costumes by mixing two tablespoons of cornstarch with one tablespoon of shortening. Mix on wax paper for easy cleaning and adding food coloring to create different colors.

Think of it as an opportunity to expand (and yours) by your child's creativity and imagination!

Some ideas to get started:

Ladybug - Use dark suit, like sweatshirts and pants (this can also help those cold days in October.) Take a red saucer (like those used for sledding in winter) and paint black circles on the back. Use a rope or cloth loops to attach the arms of the child or Velcro to attach the dish to the back of the shirt. (Bulletin Board can also be used in place of the saucer)

Rock Star - a colorful wig can be purchased or made of paper or a wire. Colorful costumes and makeup to add a little rock star costume.

Bumble Bee - Add stripes with black electrical tape and a yellow raincoat. Fashion black pipe cleaners loop antenna.

The Mummy: Wear white coat and a few pieces of gauze or white cloth around the child's body.

Skunk: Paint a white stripe down the back of a black shirt. Simple but creative!

Spider: Use a cheaper tights for the legs of a spider. Fill the tube to light a dark material and dark clothes pin.

Clown: size of brightly colored clothes work well for the clowns. Use white makeup, and paint red circles on the cheeks of the child. Make balls, juggling balls or clown.

Pumpkin: baby sweater dress oversize orange and dark trousers. Draw a pumpkin face and shirt, green cap increases the baby's head the perfect pumpkin.

A bunch of grapes: a solid green or black shirt used for this costume. Attach purple balloons to the costume with duct tape to create a bunch of grapes.

Angel: wear white clothes. Add pipe cleaners in a strip-style white circular halo. Angel moment!

For babies:

Rabbit: high for babies. Dress your child in a sleeping car, and add some matching fabric for floppy ears. Paint a little beard, the cheeks of the child for a cute bunny. (Works the same for kittens and puppies)

Flower: To paint a green stripe in the middle of sleep. Add fabric around a bottle of flower petals.

There are almost limitless options for homemade costumes if you use your imagination. Look around the simple ideas that are very creative and different! All in all, remember to have fun and also the creative process of your child.
